We follow the Black and White Village Trail, travelling through some of the most attractive villages in England including Weobley, Pembridge and Eardisland to the historic cathedral city of Hereford.
Morning visit to the nearby Shropshire Hills Visitor Centre, which includes a virtual ‘balloon ride’ over the hills!
Afternoon at leisure. Ludlow is a very attractive market town, full of old buildings including an imposing castle, perched high above the River Teme.
We travel via the Shropshire Hills to Shrewsbury. This splendid medieval town has winding streets with unusual names such as Bear Steps, Wyle Cop and Grope Lane, full of half-timbered buildings.
There are over 600 listed buildings, including the Castle and Abbey.
We enjoy a boat trip on the river severn, aboard the Sabrina, travelling round the horseshoe loop in the river and viewing the attractive waterfront (tea and biscuits included).
One of the most famous inns in the country. Famous for the carved woodwork outside and in, this picturepostcard 17th-century hotel is one of the town's best-known landmarks and is in an excellent location.
The public areas have retained much of the traditional charm, and the first-floor lounge is particularly stunning.
