International Bomber Command Centre

The recently opened International Bomber Command Centre includes a 31 metre tall memorial spire, the UK’s tallest war memorial, and walls that feature the names of all those who lost their lives during the Second World War.

The centre includes a state-of-the-art exhibition over three galleries includes the first-hand testimonies of those who survived.

Aviation Heritage Centres & Dambusters Memorial

This morning we make the short journey to Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre where RAF Cranwell’s history can be traced from its Royal Navy years and the Royal Air Force College to the present day.

Our next visit is to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, located on the former bomber airfield and home to Avro Lancaster “Just Jane”.

We then carry on through Woodhall spa to see the Dambusters Memorial before ending the afternoon at the Dambusters Inn in scampton, here you will experience a warm and friendly welcome and view the walls covered with an impressive collection of RAF WWII memorabilia.

Duxford

visit to the imperial War Museum in Duxford, Europe’s premier aviation museum.

Located in the well preserved Battle of Britain airfield, this awardwinning museum is home to a unique collection of aircraft, including the iconic Concorde and Spitfire.

RAF Digby

Today our visit is to RAF Digby for a guided tour by RAF crew of the Lima Sector Operations room, the only one of its kind left in existence and recently restored from artefacts found on site (and 'borrowed' from other bases!).

Following our visit we make our way back to the north east.
