Ziller Valley Steam Train & The Ziller Gold Mine
On July 31st, 1902 this wonderful narrow-gauge steam train made its first journey from Jenbach to Mayrhofen. The line almost closed in 1965 to make way for a new road which was being constructed. Fortunately saved, it still operates along the Ziller Valley to this day. Ride on this nostalgic train from Fügen to Mayrhofen and enjoy a little schnapps and some folk music along the way.
Innsbruck
We visit Innsbruck, capital of the Tyrol, which has twice hosted the Winter Olympics. This beautiful Alpine destination is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Sites include the Imperial Palace, Golden Roof and Hofkirche. We enjoy a guided tour. There will be free time in the city for shopping and sightseeing before we return to our hotel.
