We visit the Giants Causeway (National Trust, admission extra), one of the great natural wonders of the world. The Causeway was formed 50-60 million years as a result of a volcanic eruption and consists of 40,000 columns of layered basalt that extend out to sea.
We also visit the old Bushmills distillery, the world’s oldest whiskey distillery, having received a licence in 1608.
Morning visit to Mount Stewart (National Trust, admission extra), an impressive 18th century mansion with art treasures and inspirational gardens on the tranquil shores of Strangford Lough.
Guided morning sightseeing tour of Belfast viewing all the major sites including Stormont, City Hall, Grand Opera House, Shankhill and Falls Roads, Wall Murals and Queens University.
In the afternoon, we visit Titanic Belfast. Housed in an iconic building, this fascinating museum was opened in 2012, where visitors relive the entire Titanic story, from its birth in Belfast, to her ill-fated maiden voyage and the eventual discovery on the sea bed.
There are ten hugely informative galleries to explore, at this ‘must-see’ exhibition.
