Entry to Rosslyn Chapel & Dumfries House
Today we head through beautiful border country towards Edinburgh, stopping off at the 15th century Rossyln Chapel.
A truly compelling and unique building surviving the turbulent times of the Reformation, to the Da Vinci Code as portrayed in the 2003 film starring Tom Hanks.
This afternoon is spent enjoying beautiful Edinburgh.
After breakfast we head north to an area of Outstanding Highland Beauty.
We travel through the trossachs visiting Callander, Aberfoyle and Drymen before stopping at Lomond shores, at the southern tip of the loch for retail therapy, by-passing Glasgow on the way back to your hotel.
This morning we travel to Ayr and take in some sea air before heading to nearby Dumfries House, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes and best kept secrets, with sumptuous interiors and furnishings all set around 2000 acres of land.
Remaining virtually unchanged in 250 years, in 2007 HRH The Prince of Wales headed a consortium of charities to purchase the house in order to keep this historical jewel intact and accessible to the public.
Set in peaceful surroundings our friendly hotel offers a warm welcome, enjoy the comfortable bar and restaurant offering traditional food.
All bedrooms are comfortably furnished and offer en-suite facilities, hairdryer, TV, telephone, complimentary Wi-Fi and tea/coffee facilities.
All bedrooms are on the first floor, the hotel does not have a lift although it does have a ramp
