Ullswater "Steamer" Trip
We journey via the shores of Ullswater, one of the most dramatic lakes in Cumbria, enjoying the spectacular views of mountains, plunging down to the lake, which inspired Wordsworth to compose his poem ‘Daffodils’.
We enjoy a ‘steamer’ trip from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding.
We continue via the spectacular Kirkstone Pass to bowness, where we break for lunch.
We journey to the shores of Coniston, situated beneath the slopes of the ‘Old Man’.
We continue to the pretty village of Hawkshead for a lunch break.
The Beatrix Potter Gallery, a 17th century building, was once the office of the local solicitor William Heelis, who married Beatrix Potter in 1913 and has remained largely unaltered since his day.
We journey via Windermere to the attractive Lakeland town of Grasmere, which is noted for it’s gingerbread.
We continue passing the ‘Lion and the Lamb’, an outcrop on Helm Crag and serene Thirlmere.
We break for lunch in Keswick, situated by Derwentwater and in the shadow of Skiddaw.
