Home pick up. Arrive early evening in Hull.
Yorkshire Coast and Beverley. We enjoy a trip along the Yorkshire Coast via Bridlington and Filey; breaking for lunch in Scarborough. In the afternoon, we travel to Beverley. The town is dominated by its Minster, which dates from 1220 and is one of the finest examples of Medieval Gothic architecture in the country.
Historic Hull and Burton Constable. We enjoy a morning informal guided tour of Hull’s Historic Quarter, with stories and anecdotes about Robinson Crusoe, William Wilberforce, a plot against King Charles I and the Land of Green Ginger. Hull is the UK City of Culture 2017 and there will be 365 days of compelling and ambitious world-class events taking place. In the afternoon we visit magnificent Elizabethan Burton Constable Hall. Outstanding interiors filled with fine furniture, paintings and sculpture include Great Hall, Long Gallery, classically inspired Dining Room, Chippendale furnished Great Drawing Room to the design of James Wyatt, early 19th century Chinese Room and Chapel.
Homeward journey. We enjoy a Farewell Lunch at Orton Hall Hotel (two courses including tea/coffee).
A railway hotel in Victorian times, this excellent hotel is centrally located. The impressive building has been modernised in recent years, with the stunning central lounge area a focal point.
