Gloucester Warwickshire Railway journey
Visit to Stow on the Wold, Bourton on Water, Cheltenham and Stratford upon Avon
Today we enjoy a return journey on the Gloucester Warwickshire railway travelling from Cheltenham to Toddington and back.
A wonderful experience as the heritage railway hauled by a locomotive gently takes you through the glorious Cotswolds.
Have a look around the GWR shop and its small museum or maybe enjoy a cuppa at the Flag and Whistle tea room before returning back to Cheltenham for some free time.
This morning we make our way along the lush meadows and honey coloured stone villages to the perfect picture-postcard villages of middle England.
We arrive at Stow-on-the-Wold, where there is time to explore the ancient market square surrounded by dozens of independent antique shops.
This afternoon we set out for the “Little Venice of the Cotswolds” Bourton-on-the-Water, this idyllic village is regularly voted the prettiest village in England, it’s not hard to see why.
En-route home we pay a visit to stratford upon Avon, the famousbirthplace of Shakespeare and a lovely town with its half-timbered16th century buildings and many unique shops.
