Gent’s city centre will again be turned into a winter wonderland. An ice-skating ring under the City Pavilion, a giant Ferris wheel in front of St. Bavo’s Cathedral which overlooks the wooden stalls winding their way from Sint-Baafsplein to the Korenmarkt. A real festive feel in Gent.
The Place Rihour area of Lille comes alive at Christmas-time and transforms into a real winter wonderland. The market is home to over 80 wooden chalets and stalls offering all manner of festive goodies and culinary delights. Father Christmas makes regular appearances and there is a funfair. Why not take a trip on the 50 metre high Big Wheel situated on the Grand Place or if you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, why not shop till you drop in the 3900 shops in the city.
Already a magical city, but when the festivities start and Christmas lights are glowing, the ice rink on the Bruges Market Square is alive with activity and the many food and festive gift stalls are offering traditional seasonal delights, this has to be one of the nicest places to be before Christmas.
